American Sunset, by Sam Matamua.

M1 Tanks roll across the desert. Smoke and dust swirl in the afternoon sun.

These are toy tanks and that's me making a cameo in my own artwork there in the second tank (the one that's further away). The other guy in the first tank is just a plastic figure that came with the tank. But he's cool.

Operation Urgent Light, by Sam Matamua.

Apache Helicopters go on a night mission. Seen here through night vision goggles.

These are toy helicopters which I tried to make look real, but this is probably not fooling anyone, certainly not any military folk. The name 'Operation Urgent Light' came from a website that generated fake military-mission names. I forgot the website else I'd plug it here.

M1 Tank Platoon, by Sam Matamua.

The words read "US Military presents, M1 Tank Platoon, coming soon to a theater (of war) near you". This is not political. I'm not saying anything here. I just like tanks! I was trying to think how to pose these tanks. I played around with different positions and camera angles. I think in the end I must've been channeling the famous Charlie's Angels pose, you know the one in the opening credits of the TV show where you see the girls in silhouette against a fiery backdrop. That's what these tanks remind me of.

Let's Roll, by Sam Matamua.

A huge military task force consisting of Tanks, Humvees, APC's and Helicopters, sets out across the desert on a mission.

Prints available in my ETSY store.
